Chris Bockman is an experienced broadcast journalist based in Toulouse from where he reports on a range of subjects in France for the BBC. 

The stories he has covered from southern France over the past two decades were turned into a book, " Are you the foie gras correspondent?" 

His other key role is providing specialized media training for senior executives mainly in the aerospace and innovation sectors to help them tailor their messages for press interviews.

Lars Eiermann is a visionary leader in sustainable innovation, spearheading ventures focused on scalable environmental impact within the circular economy. 

As Chief Sustainable Officer at TUM Venture Labs and Managing Director of its Climate & Circular Economy Lab, he drives efforts to transform promising research into impactful startups, establishing TUM’s role as a European DeepTech powerhouse.

Johannes Müller is Head of Sustainability and Communications for Airbus Defence and Space. He joined Airbus on 1 January 2022 and also serves as member of the Executive Committee at Airbus Defence and Space.

Before joining Airbus, Johannes Müller was Vice President Communications at BSH Hausgeräte in Munich since 2017. Previously, he served as Director Marketing Communication for both BSH Hausgeräte as well as Robert Bosch GmbH.

In parallel, Johannes Müller has been working as a freelance conflict photographer since 2011, supporting
humanitarian projects and initiatives in Afghanistan, Iraq, Mali and other countries. He has a strong personal and professional commitment of minimizingthe negative footprint and maximizing the positive impact of our handprint, which are of fundamental importance in the further transformation of Airbus.

Christof Reinert is Head of Risk Management Partners at Munich Re, one of the world's leading providers of reinsurance, primary insurance and risk solutions. He leads a team focused on developing agile, tailored risk management solutions for assessing the impact of physical climate risks. 

With over 20 years of experience in (re)insurance, he is passionate about risk management and committed to helping clients understand, measure and manage their risks in an ever-changing environment. 

Christof Reinert holds a degree in civil engineering from the Deutsch-Französische Hochschule (DFHI) Saarbrücken/Metz.

Tobias Grimm has been Munich Re’s Chief Climate Scientist since 2025 and has been heading Climate Advisory since 2023. His team is responsible for supporting climate-related business development.  
Tobias has a long track record as Climate Expert at Munich Re. Before his current role, he was based in Sydney from 2020 until 2023, where he was the local climate expert for Munich Re Australia, developing Greentech insurance solutions and supporting a banking project.

For many years, he was a senior project manager and deputy to Munich Re's chief climate scientist, playing a leading role in a wide range of projects related to natural hazards, climate change and the energy transition. 
 
Tobias has been with Munich Re since January 2005. He holds a Master’s degree in geography and applied meteorology from the LMU – University of Munich. Before joining Munich Re, he worked for three years as a weather expert at a private weather service provider.

Prof. Dr. Johann Georg Goldammer is the Director of the Global Fire Monitoring Center (GFMC). He is serving as coordinator of the Global Wildland Fire Network and nine Regional Fire Management Resource Centers throughout the continents. 

Furthermore, the GFMC is serving as the Secretariat of the International Fire Aviation Working Group (IFAWG), which is currently transiting to the International Aerial Fire Management Working Group. 

As a Member of the UN Global Fire Management Hub, Prof. Dr. Johann Georg Goldammer is in charge of the Working Group “International Interoperability.

As a pioneer of fire ecology science in Central Europe since the 1970s, he is serving as professor for Fire Ecology at Freiburg University.

Prof. Dr. Farhah Assaad is a distinguished group leader in the School of Life Sciences at the Technical University of Munich since 2004. With a Ph.D. in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and postdoctoral research at the University of Munich and the Carnegie Institution at Stanford, her research is centered on how plants and ecosystems adapt to multiple stress conditions, including heat and drought—factors critically relevant to wildfire risk and recovery. At the ecosystem level, her group studies forest conversion and dynamic agroforestry systems, providing a vital perspective on environmental resilience in the face of future climate scenarios. Her work offers key insights into growth tradeoffs in model plants like Arabidopsis and the resilience of forest and agro-ecosystems under stress.

Francisco Javier Ezquerra Boticario is a distinguished Spanish Forestry Engineer and PhD in Ecology who currently serves as Services Coordinator at the General Directorate on Natural Heritage and Forest Policy for Castilla y León. With nearly 30 years of experience, he integrates high-level administrative leadership with field-tested expertise in wildfire suppression, having managed large-scale operations for the INFOCAL organization.

Beyond his operational roles, he is a prolific researcher with over 80 scientific publications focused on the intersection of forest resilience, paleoecology, and fire dynamics in the face of climate change. His career is marked by international collaboration, representing his region in key European Commission working groups and transnational projects across Europe and South America.

Olivier Chalvet is Senior New Business Manager for Airbus Defence and Space. In his role, he holds the responsibility for Business Development of the Division. From 2024 he is in charge of developing the Airbus Group portfolio with solutions to fight wildfires.

Prior to assuming this position, he joined the Airbus Group in 2011 as Director of Sales & Marketing for Cassidian in India. He was later responsible for Customer Affairs and Business Development of Airbus Defence and Space in Korea and in South East Asia.

Olivier Chalvet started his professional career in 1998 when he joined TNO in the Netherlands in the R&D department, focusing on development and testing of high tech materials for aerospace.

In 2001, he joined Thales in France as Sales Manager for the Aerospace Division in Asia., before becoming responsible for the entry into service of NH90 helicopters for Thales Group. In 2009, he was seconded to India to develop the services activities of the Group in the country.

Olivier Chalvet was born in 1974 in Nîmes, France. He holds a Post-Master Degree from the ENS Arts et Metiers, France, in aerospace and graduated from the ENS Ceramique Industrielle (France) in 1997.

Thomas Grübler is co-founder of OroraTech, a NewSpace company founded in 2018, which he has since played a key role in building up. Today, OroraTech employs around 180 people worldwide; the company's systems are used by authorities, fire departments, and companies on several continents.

Grübler's interest in wildfire fighting is also shaped by his involvement in the volunteer fire department. As Chief Strategy Officer, he is responsible for OroraTech's strategic development and internationalization. Since 2025, he has also been CEO & President of OroraTech USA and leads the expansion of the US business.

Dr. Martin Schmid is the deputy head of wildland firefighting branch of @fire and is therefore in particular responsible for air operations as well as fire mapping and analysis. In this function, he was involved in several major fires in the last years in Germany and in particular in the respective air operations.

He is a member of the national working group for wildland firefighting of the German Fire Services Association as a specialist for air operations and co-author of the first German guideline for air operations and further publications.

From 2015 to 2021, he was chief of the aerial support unit of the fire department Munich. In this context, he participated in several national and international trainings in the field of air operations.

Dr. Martin Schmid holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from TU München with focus on thermodynamics and fluid mechnanics.

Alexander Held is a senior expert and project coordinator at the European Forest Institute (EFI), where he has led capacity-building projects for wildfire prevention and risk assessment across Europe since 2012. 

With over 25 years of experience in forestry, fire management, and conservation, he previously served as the International Liaison Officer at the Working on Fire Program in South Africa and coordinated wildland fire training at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry. 

He is a recognised subject matter expert in disturbance ecology and integrated fire management, frequently consulting for international organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank. 
Additionally, he serves as an expert advisor for The Earthshot Prize and holds an MSc in Forestry Science from the University of Freiburg.

Philipp von der Schulenburg is a seasoned reinsurance and innovation expert with more than two decades of experience across underwriting, client management, global consulting, and corporate strategy at Munich Re. After leading the Group’s innovation strategy in Silicon Valley and partnering with emerging InsurTechs, he co‑founded TreeTrust, a corporate venture dedicated to large‑scale afforestation and high‑quality carbon removal projects. Under his leadership, TreeTrust initiated projects creating over 1,000 hectares of new forest and enabling more than 600,000 tons of future CO₂ sequestration.

Today, Philipp focuses on strategic transformation topics within Munich Re. He continues to maintain a strong interest in climate resilience and nature‑based solutions. As a private forest owner, he brings a practical, on‑the‑ground perspective to the growing importance of wildfire resilience and long‑term landscape stewardship in Europe.
